Huge Weymouth festival set for return

SummerFest will once again take place on the grounds of Redlands Leisure and Community Park in Weymouth on Saturday, June 7.

This year, the festival will be raising vital funds for Weldmar Hospicecare and The Front Skatepark.

Organiser of SummerFest, Weymouth and Portland Table member Adam Luckhurst said: “I am delighted to announce that SummerFest will return in 2025. The team have been working unbelievably hard behind the scenes to make next year’s event unmissable.

“We are so proud that SummerFest has become an integral part of Weymouth’s social calendar and are looking forward to raising much-needed funds for Weldmar and The Front Skatepark.

“Each year the local community and our event sponsors surprise us with their endless generosity and goodwill. We simply couldn’t do it without them.”

Over the last two years, the family has raised tens of thousands of pounds for local good causes including £13,000 for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, £17,000 for Weymouth Lifeboat Station, and the purchase of a lifesaving defibrillator machine at Weymouth Quayside.

Organisers have promised that this will be ‘the biggest and most ambitious event so far.’

This year, SummerFest welcomed thousands of visitors for an unforgettable day of fun activities, live entertainment and fairground rides, finishing with a spectacular firework display.

Weldmar Hospicecare provides specialist care for adults in Dorset with a life limiting illness, which includes conditions such as cancer, motor neurone disease, and heart disease.

Set up in 2001, The Front Skatepark is a sport facility and registered charity, located on Preston Beach Road, where young people can enjoy skateboarding, scooting, BMX and Skates as part of a safe community social hub.

Entry is £2 for adults and there is some parking available on site at £10 each, whilst the remaining parking is at the Park and Ride – Shuttle buses will be running on the day
