KFC granted premises licence despite late-night concerns

had claimed that the extra hour could set a precedent and lead to the potential of late night disturbance for neighbours.

A representative of KFC at Ivy Cross, Shaftesbury said despite the town council’s concerns there had been no public nuisance problems or safety issues and no evidence the additional hour requested would have a negative impact.

A solicitor for the over-arching business, Supercharger Restaurants, which also runs Costa Coffee, Burger King and Taco Bell, said that, despite the town council comments, there had been no representations from any neighbours about the extended time request, which did no involve alcohol sales, and the council’s environmental health team had raised no objection.

Dorset Council’s licensing sub committee granted the new Premises Licence for the business.
